La Première En Chemin (Instrumental) - French hymn to Our Lady (Covideo Sessions No.3)

Image
An instrumental version of the French hymn to Our Lady, La Première En Chemin, written by Sister Marie-Colette and Georges Lefèbvre and made famous by French singer Raymond Fau which I recorded on the Feast of the Annunciation (March 25th 2020) - click on Show More. It describes, in poetic terms, how Mary was the first disciple, the first follower of Jesus, "La Première En Chemin", charting her journey following her Son from the Annunciation through to her glorious Assumption. The chorus asks Mary to walk with us on our journey to God. The images I've chosen attempt to tell the story of the lyrics in visual form (artists named, where possible, at the very bottom).

Here I Am To Worship + reflection (cover of Tim Hughes' original) - "Covideo Sessions No. 2"

The second of my "Covideo Sessions", this one a multi-tracked arrangement based on Tim Hughes' original recording of his classic worship song, followed by a personal reflection during which I read out a devotional by Liz Milani from the Pocket Fuel app ( https://www.pktfuel.com/ = the devotional for July 17th, 2018). After this, I'll be stripping things back to live vocals + guitar for the most part, with only sparing use of backing tracks and will try and record something most days. For my fellow school Chaplains, teachers, all those involved in education in Britain and N. Ireland. Today is a day unlike any other we have experienced or will (hopefully) ever experience again. Our students, especially those in Yr. 6, Yr. 11 and Yr. 13, will be feeling a complex mixture of emotions and many will be upset at not having the chance to properly celebrate the end of this particular educational cycle. They are going to need our ongoing support and prayers over these coming weeks and months through whatever communication/distance learning system your school has in place (Google Drive/Classroom, for example).  We need to also support and lift up each other. Keep in regular contact, share the good stuff, but also find those with whom you can share the bad stuff, because we are all going to need to offload at some point. Be there for others as you would want them to be there for you. I have a gut feeling that in the midst of all that is happening right now, the seeds of somet

"My Lighthouse" - Rend Collective (cover version)

Image
Thanks to Rend Collective for this brilliant worship anthem which has become a favourite of our pupils here in Liverpool and in my religious order's young adults network (the De La Mennais Brothers). May Jesus be the lighthouse who brings you safe to shore during these troubled times. Originally recorded yesterday for a dear friend currently in hospital after a road accident. I thought I'd also share it with the wider world as my little contribution to the light that we are all being called to share with each other. I might record a few more "standards" from our school worship song repertoire if people think it would be worthwhile.

One mind and one voice glorifying God
